The Pine Tree

THE PINE TREE

The pine stood tall along the road,

After many years of strife.

But becoming that tall and strong,

Took a long and uneasy life.

It beautified the countryside.

It provided a landmark, tall and straight.

It provided shade for the weary,

While under its branches they wait.

I want to be that tall and strong,

Yet gently as the pine is too!

For it’s great and mighty limbs bend,

As the wind blows through.
