My Prayer

MY PRAYER

I prayed for you today, my Friend.

God let me near His throne.

I claimed for you some graces dear,

By mercies not my own.

I named The Name above the rest,

I petitioned from Him your care;

And when I dried my eyes in joy;

I left your burden there.

In full assurance I arose,

Turned back to my task assigned.

For now my prayer was in His heart,

And His will is mine.

Prayers Sent Up

PRAYERS SENT UP

Prayers are being sent up for you;

Like smoke from the old sacrifice.

Prayers of sincerity and earnestness arise;

To the heart of God, All Wise.

Prayers are arising into Heaven’s presence,

Not based on sentiment or whim.

Prayers of faith’s good  hope based on,

Our only sacrifice, – the Lamb.

We feel your pain, we sense your fear.

We know the same would be ours;

Had we your malady in our flesh,

And yours were our prayers and cries.

We meet with Jesus and speak of you,

His care for you to us is shared.

For only of His singular care,

Upon our hearts may be beared.

There’s silence in heaven when we pray,

No distractions are permitted.

God is absorbing the prayers of saints

Former sinners his Son has acquitted.

Mountains of hinderances are moved,

By faith’s one little mustard seed.

The Father is honored, the Son blessed,

The destitute have their need.
