“Twas the day after Christmas,
When all through the house,
The clutter was everywhere,
And I felt like a louse.
The regrets were now coming,
Made me feel right ill;
Especially when I thought,
Of our credit card bill!
Maw in her jammies,
Had got into bed,
I fell in behind her,
I was feeling half dead!
The phone started ringing.
O golly! O gee!
It’s just another idiot,
With a car warren-tee!
It all feels so stupid,
Why do this again?
Bet every merchant;
All have a big grin!
On Cosco! On WallMart!
On stores at the mall!
As the interest on my card,
Spikes and flies above all!
And they are all returning
My gifts back to the store.
For all that I gave them,
They don’t want any more!
But one thing you count on;
One thing never fear.
No matter how bad,
We’ll repeat it next year!
