NO PRIVATE INTERPRETATION
2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
One of the reasons for the term, “Great Whore” (Revelation 17:1, 19:2), is because religion has prostituted the intended use of the Holy Scriptures. An old preacher once said, “A whore is one who has repudiated headship.” And that is true. For if you do not come and bow to the Person of the Word, you cannot come to the word of the Person! John 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Because she ‘thinks’ she has eternal life by her relation to the printed page, religion is in a state of sleepy and false confidence! In Christ’s parable all ten virgins were asleep. All ten had the light of the world. But only the wise virgins had the light of life! John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. There is quite a difference between illumination and revelation!
Every man born of woman has the light of intelligence! John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. But that light can be the greatest darkness! Matthew 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! For the bare intellectual letter of the word not only fails to reveal Christ to the heart, but it kills any spiritually out of that heart! 2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
One can have a vast accumulation of facts in their head concerning ‘god’ and religion. They can even teach others, but not have the reality of life within them! Their mouths ‘draw nigh’ to God, but their hearts at the same time are far from him! Their mouths are close to religious matter with dead facts, but their hearts could not be farther from the experiential knowledge of Christ! Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Romans 2:17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, 18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; 19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, 20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. 21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? … 23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
Dear Reader, THAT is exactly what has eroded the true, spiritual Christianity in our nation! Parents, preachers, spiritual and social leaders spouting one thing with their mouths, but doing the opposite. Matthew 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. That doesn’t fool God, and it surely destroys sincerity from our own, and from the hearts and lives of our children! Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
This is a vicious deception and a strong delusion to the very souls of those dedicated to the practice of traditional religion! Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: These professors and their religious orders, proclaiming to be the churches of the Lord God, are in all actuality the churches of Satan! Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. For, as the verses in Matthew, chapter twenty three, listed above clearly state, these are merely Pharisees in Moses’ seat! They are like Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, who also receiveth us not. (3 John 9). And this kind are by far, filling the majority of the pulpits and pews across our land!
The true God cannot be known by education and it’s illumination. He is solely known by revelation! And he is spirit. And his words, therefore, in order to be life must be spiritual! John 4:24 God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Therefore the revelation of the Person of the Word – the Lord Christ – is strictly controlled by the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit must grant spiritual life for there to be spiritual revelation. For the only ‘blessed’ one’s who shall be filled with the spiritual word are those who hunger for it within their souls. And hunger is a sign of life. No one has to ‘teach’ the new born to nurse! It comes into the world hungry.
And so it is with the new birth! Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. The Lord plainly set this forth in a message which cannot be understood by those practicing religion. John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
For once he stopped providing physical bread and began to set forth the spiritual Bread, they began to drop out from among his followers! John 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. For if it takes a hamburger (physical bread), to get them in, it will take more hamburgers to keep them in! We can fill our pews with scores of those hunger for the physical things, but we, of ourselves, can never fill their souls with Christ, the Bread of life!
Spiritual hunger! The need of Christ! This is the key to receiving the spiritual revelation of the Person of the Bread, and with the Person of the Word. For as in him, the word became flesh, so it must be in us. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. That Word who was with God, and who was God from the beginning (John 1:1-2), became the Incarnate Word, who reveals the glory of God. This is exclusively the pattern for true Christianity.
The word must become flesh with every believer as well! Only then will there any manifesting of the glory of supernatural presence! For it must be Christ in you, the hope of glory: Colossians 1:27. It is never the person entering into religion which makes a true believer. It is Christ, by the Holy Spirit, entering into the soul which reveals the glory of God from that experience, and from that supernatural life! For it is Christ as the vine who gives the life to the branches in order that they might bring forth the fruit of the Spirit. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
And as we read in our text above from the Apostle Peter, the word did not come by the will of man, but by the moving of the Holy Spirit, therefore it cannot now be interpreted privately to suit our individual religious fancies! It was given by the Holy Spirit. It must be interpreted and applied by the Holy Spirit! He it was who overshadowed the virgin, causing the eternal Word, the Son of God to dwell within. Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Therefore that same Spirit must indwell every true believer, imparting spiritual life, and imputing the very righteousness of God within!
For as his birth is the pattern of our spiritual birth, so his death provides the righteousness for our spiritual lives! For it was only as our personal sin was placed upon, or imputed to him, that his personal righteousness is imputed, or placed upon us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
The Father did not send his son into the word to start religions. For formal religions have always begun by private interpretation of the scriptures. He sent his son into the world to provide deliverance for those given to the Son, and to exact destruction upon the one (Satan), who had brought sin into the realm of the human beings. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
The private interpretations of the scriptures have originated and maintained harlot religions throughout the ages. The Whore’s religion would have a physical priesthood. They would have their priests rule over them, even with the actuality of having priestcraft exacted upon themselves. But the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ – the Great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.) – changed forever that physical priesthood. Hebrews 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. 13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. 14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
And therefore has thus commanded – Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. For now, since the redemption was accomplished at Calvary, every believer is a priest in his own rite! 1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Due to our glorious High Priest, we now have the temple veil of his body torn, to afford us bold entrance into the presence of the Holy Father! Hebrews 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
