CONTRASTING WORLDS
2 Cor. 2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
A contrast of worlds is evident today,
To those given eyes to see.
Further down into darkness goes the one;
In bright radiance the others agree.
Eternity is impatient with delaying time,
Urgent for Christ’s glory to reveal.
Measured succession too soon folds its tent;
Timeless eternity to be unveiled.
The glory of Christ, the fire of his eyes,
Purifying again all God’s realm,
Nothing outside that sovereign view,
Our Captain now at the helm.
The glory that struck proud Saul to his knees,
Also raised the martyr Stephen’s hope.
Heaven shall be changed in its brilliance;
While Hell with it can’t cope.
Things that offend taken out of the kingdom;
Wheat stored safely into His barn;
One world locked into darkness eternal,
The other forever from harm.
The difference in worlds changes not God’s glory;
It’s the condition one views glory in;
Redemption receives its full measure;
Damnation the result of its sin!
