GREEDY AMERICANS
The greed of Wall Street has no heart
For our children standing in the dark;
Nor of their fears as shadows flee;
Just so long as they get their fee.
Back packs heavy to be borne,
Shoulders and souls both bent and torn.
All for self to get “what’s mine”
Necessitating Daylight Savings Time!
“All evil” is now ours to claim;
For love of money we have no shame.
Selling our souls for shiney ore;
Greedy souls, rotten to the core!
“Just ambition,” their only defense,
Of its cancer they have no sense.
For greed coming to this high place,
Its robbed our souls of its faith!
The poor in spirit are so very blessed;
In peaceful contentment they fully rest.
Their treasure not stopped at their grave;
Their souls not with greed enslaved.
1Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
