Internet Death
My Dad died last May, it’s true;
But it caused not a bit of fret.
‘Cause the way I found it out, you see’
Was on the Internet!
The other siblings I did inform;
A cheek never a tear did wet;
‘Cause we didn’t get in on anything,
Till I found it out on the Net!
This computer age is something else,
On it they buy and sell, and bet!
But the most amazing thing I’ve ever found;
Was my Dad’s death on the Net!
His last wife said narry a word,
She just let this story set!
And none of us would have ever known,
If I hadn’t been surfin’ the Net!
It was the Social Security records I read,
And I bet them checks have stopped.
‘Cause if I can find out such as this,
So can them Internet cops!
So when I die, and that I shall,
Don’t cover me with satin and lace.
Just fire me off into the great beyond,
You know, – out into Cyberspace!
