MARY’S MOTHERHOOD
When God would bring forth His Son,
A child like none other,
He chose out a virgin plain, (1.)
And made of her a mother.
This one child her heart did stir,
His words her soul did ponder, (2.)
A sword did pierce her heart as said, (3.)
On Calvary, over yonder.
There she was given over to,
One whom he was most fond.
She was yet a mother still,
But now her son was John. (4.)
To worship her is not allowed,
Not righteous by her behavior,
Of her own words she did declare;
“I rejoice in God my Saviour.” (5.)
