MY GRANDDAUGHTER
If a deterrent is needed to keep a man
From doing what he hadn’t oughta…
Just present the effect within his life
Of a precious, sweet granddaughter.
She’ll cause him to live an exemplary life,
He’ll be the model of law and order.
It’s amazing the change which can come from
Just one little sweet granddaughter!
His face lights up when she’s brought for a visit,
Near her crib he loves to linger.
And it won’t be long before some smart-aleck states,
“He’s wrapped around her finger!”
He prays for her soul as she sleeps in her crib,
He trusts Jesus’ blood has bought her.
With tears on his face, his heart cries out to God…
Please grant life to my little granddaughter.
