TRUTH TAPE LIBRARY
Brother Gene turned in the Post Office key to Box 490 in Tyrone, Ga. this past Thursday, June 30th. That box and previously Box 599 had been the home of Truth Tape Library since the mid-70’s. This faith based tape ministry was set up as a ‘library,’ in order to get the gospel out without charge to anyone who had an ear to hear.
The intent was to allow anyone to check out the cassette tapes of recorded gospel preaching and return them when they were finished, in order that they could be heard without charge. But nothing was ever said if they were not returned. By the grace of God and the many anonymous supporters He raised up, the ministry never asked for a single donation and never turned anyone down who requested a message on tape.
Brother and Sister Bobby and Brenda Quick enlarged it with a video tape ministry in later years, and after Sister Vickie Mitchell ran it from her Douglasville home, they took it over and ran it from their basement until the end.
After the demise of the cassette and video tapes, came the CD’s and DVD’s. And now Grace Baptist church supplies the gospel free to all at our website – “GBCga.com.”
We thank all of you who helped with your prayers and unsolicited donations down through the years. Hopefully the Lord Christ was glorified in all our endeavors.
